North Mountain Triathlon/Duathlon
This is a event for everyone. A short open water swim followed by a scenic bike ride through the historic areas of Berkeley County, WV and finishing with a cross country run within the beautiful setting of Poorhouse Farm Park.
Relays are available on all events if you wish to get a group together to complete an event.
North Mountain Sprint Triathlon -
Saturday
23 June starting at 8 am the 3rd Annual North Mountain Sprint Triathlon
will start. The 300 yard open water swim will be exciting and
fast in the pond of Poorhouse Farm Park. After a quick
transition the athletes will head out to the rural roads of Berkeley
County cycling the very roads that George Washington himself rode on
horseback many years ago to complete a 11 mile bike course.
Finally, after a second transition the athletes will run a
cross
country 5K course through a finish line to receive a victory medal.
North Mountain Sprint Duathlon
- For
those not able to swim the distance, we are offering a Duathlon to take
place of the swim. The first cross country run will be .80 of
a
mile (8/10ths) then complete the event the same as the triathletes.
The Duathletes will run the same 3 mile course to
the finish
line. Both the Triathlon and Duathlon will be open to
athletes 15
and over.

| Fast
swim in open water followed by a great scenic bicycle ride through
historic Berkeley County followed by a fun cross country run will
give you a sense of accomplishment as you receive the finisher's medal.
The cycling courses are local favorites. It has
some
locations where an athlete will be able to hold 30 mph+. Que
